Project Pilgrim is excited to announce that we will be hosting a Book Launch Party & Gallery Night on August 10 from 7:00-10:00pm at RYU’s Kitsilano Store.
The night will feature live music from The Katherines and Una Mey, as well as talks from prominent Vancouver mental health speakers Aaron Bailey, Harvir Sandhu, Ji Youn Kim, and Connor McCracken (speaker schedule will be released soon).
Beer from Postmark Brewing as well as red and white wine, pop, and hamburgers will be for sale at the event (prices announced soon). Starbucks has generously donated coffee for this event. Light snacks will also be provided.
The event will consist of a gallery of photos from Connor McCracken’s walk along the Camino de Santiago where he captured pilgrim’s portraits as well as their comments, insights, and stories that they had on mental health. These photos have also been consolidated into the Project Pilgrim Book which will be available for purchase at the event (prices coming soon). Included at the event will be Danielle Tognetti’s “I BEAT” photography project.
Entry to the event is free, however a $2 minimum donation is recommended. Included in every $2 donation is a raffle ticket in which attendees are entered into a lottery to win photo prints, copies of the Project Pilgrim book, Starbucks baskets, and other prizes. This event is running on a very minimal budget so every level of donation is greatly appreciated. Credit Card payments will be accepted.
This event is the climax of Project Pilgrim and people of all ages are invited and welcome to come.
**Kickstarter Backers will be able to pick up their copies of the Project Pilgrim Book at this event**
Note: We are looking for several volunteers to help set up, run, and take down this event. Please message Project Pilgrim or Connor McCracken on Facebook if you are willing to donate your time.
